The Rivanna River Company is located in a beautiful riverside field off of East High St. in Charlottesville, Virginia. The access road is at the back of the parking lot between the Double Horseshoe Saloon and a blue, house-sized building (formerly the Pie Chest). Please map directions to 1520 E High St, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Then turn into the lot and look for the signs leading you down the gravel road out back. Follow the gravel road slightly pass the structures and kayak racks, then find parking on either side of the road in the mowed field.
Customers park at our location, and necessary shuttles/transportation is on us from there. Our launch points include just downstream of the reservoir (Rt. 29), Darden Towe Park, and the RRC river access near Free Bridge. Take-outs include Free Bridge, Riverview Park, and Milton Landing. River sections that we are running evolve as river conditions change throughout the season.
Some customers may choose to rent equipment that they will transport for self-supported adventures. All such rentals and returns will take place at our shop.
We generally open the 3rd weekend of April and operate through September. We are open 7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day (weather and river conditions permitting).
Reservations are required for ALL trips. Same-day reservations may be available by phone.
